Elephant Freedom Project is an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We provide a safe environment to care for and love the elephants. We do not allow the riding of our elephants nor force them into undertaking any unnatural behavior.

Elephant Freedom Project offers visitors a unique experience while visiting our elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand.
Our sanctuary is just one hour from Chiang Mai City. We offer four tours daily and allow for same-day booking. Check out our Full Day Elephant Experience, Our Half Day Morning tour, or Half Day Afternoon Tour.
You can also check our Elephant Feeding Experience. Our tours are great fun for singles, couples, and families alike. Elephant Freedom Project guarantees an unforgettable, intimate adventure with our elephants in their natural surroundings. Observe elephants foraging in the forest, interacting with each other, and playing in the mud and river– the elephants have been freed from elephant riding, performing tricks, and other unnatural behavior. We support independent ethical elephant projects that now provide these gentle giants with a better life.
We hope to lead by example and contribute to a positive change in the perception of elephants, to witness a future where elephants are not poached, ridden, overworked, or abused. We are instead treated with care, love, and respect.
