Details: Smartfish is initiated by various regional organizations and communities (IOC ESA-IO) and international (FAO, EDF) to promote the development of fisheries in Africa program. The program aims to achieve several goals to provide good management and fisheries governance, better monitoring and control and supervision, improve the regional fish trade to participate in the promotion of food security in the region.
The exploitation of fisheries resources will be improved by developing and popularizing techniques adapted to the region and the various constraints: piracy, illegal fishing and uncontrolled (IUU) and providing financial support for the development of the program.
