Details: Founded in 1999, SMARTMD was built on the belief that through innovation, significant costs and complexity could be eliminated from the delivery of patient care. Our first service, overnight medical transcriptions, leverage the internet (relatively new in 1999) and secure telecommunication channels in Asia to offer low-cost, 24-hour, transcription services to physicians. We quickly incorporated state-of-the-art DIGITAL recorders into our processes because they offered better quality and reduced the cost of transmission. To help physicians migrate from ANALOG, SMARTMD become one of the first in the industry to offer physicians free DIGITAL recorders and launched a website for doctors to upload dictations anytime and from anywhere.
This year, with the government's push toward electronic medical records, we've set our eyes on developing a comprehensive, yet affordable, EMR solution for our customers. Our goal is to make the transition from paper charts to electronic patient records simple and without requiring physicians to give up tried and true practices adopted over decades of clinical work.
