Artist Merry Rosenfield designs and makes animal jewelry in clay, sterling silver and 14K gold. Custom work and name badges with the animals of your choice are also available.
Details: I'm Merry Rosenfield, the artist behind the Magic Zoo animal jewelry. I've been an animal fan since early childhood. Back then I spent days exploring the creeks and fields of my native Ohio where I'd collect and make pets of tadpoles, salamanders, orphaned baby birds and all manner of bugs. My mom was a commercial artist and I was exposed to an environment rich in local flora and fauna and encouraged to develop my creative talents as well.
In the early 1980's I discovered polymer clay and a few years later The Magic Zoo was created and I began working the professional art and craft show circuit from California to New York. Each one of my sterling silver jewelry pieces is handcrafted by me, then cast in sterling silver using the lost wax method. All casting work is done in the U.S. Earwires and posts are sterling silver. All silver designs can be ordered in 14K gold. I also handcraft pieces from a durable, lightweight polymer clay. (It doesn't break or chip if dropped). I still make each piece of my animal jewelry clay collections individually—and yes, my fingerprints can still be seen if you look closely! I can make you a custom piece of jewelry from a photo of your pet or favorite animal.
Lately, I have added name badges with animals and other designs both in fine pewter and in polymer clay. The plates are made of brass in a Gold Tone or Silver Tone and come with a magnetic or a pin back. I hope you enjoy visiting the Magic Zoo!
